1. What is a fuse?

A fuse is a short piece of metal that is inserted in the circuit, which melts when excessive current flows through it thus breaking the circuit.

2. What are the functions of a circuit breaker?

The function of a circuit breaker is to make and break an electric circuit under normal and abnormal conditions.

3. What do mean by the term “Switchgear”?

A switchgear is a general term used for an electrical apparatus intended for switching and interrupting the current in the power system under normal and abnormal operating conditions covering the combination of switching devices and a wide range of associated auxiliaries e.g. controlling, measuring, protecting, regulating equipment’s along with their associated of switching devices and a wide range of associated auxiliaries e.g. controlling, measuring, protecting, regulating equipment along with their associated interconnection, accessories, enclosures and supporting structures. It comprises the following elements Off-load Changeovers, On-load Changeovers, Fuse and Base (Kitkat), Switch fuse unit (Mainswitch’s), HRC Main switch, busbar and ETC.

4. What is the difference between MCB & MCCB, where it can be used?

MCB is miniature circuit breaker which is thermal operated and use for short circuit protection in small current rating circuit. MCCB molded case circuit breaker and is thermal operated for over load current and magnetic operation for instant trip in short circuit condition. Under voltage and under frequency may be inbuilt. Normally it is used where normal current is more than 100A.

5. What is a changeover switch?

A changeover switch is designed to transfer a house (or business) electricity from the commercial power grid to a local generator when n outage occurs. Also known as “transfer switches,” they connect directly to the generator, commercial power supply or line, and the house
Available AMPS:32Amps,63Amps, 100Amps ,200Amps ,400Amps ,600Amps, 800Amps and 1000Amps

6. What is the purpose of the main switch?

On case of emergency the main switch ensures that all power is off in a facility. When I build high power electronics, I always proved an emergency off button that turns off all power supplies except the control circuit and discharges all energy storage capacitors, but to guarantee there is no internal source of hazardous voltages for anyone working on the equipment I provide an external disconnect switch that removes all power from the interior. This switch can also be locked off to prevent unauthorized use of the equipment.
In all electrical circuits there should be concern for both the safety of the user and other personnel and the safety of the equipment.
Available AMPS: 32Amps, 63Amps, 100Amps

7. What is the difference between HRC fuse and normal fuse?

The fuse wire is subjected to deterioration due to oxidation through the continuous heating up of the fuse element. In HRC type of fuse, the fuse wire or element can carry short circuit heavy current for a known time period. During this time if the fault gets removed, then it does not blow off.
Available AMPS:200Amps ,400Amps (HRC)

8. What is Kit Kat fuse made up of?

Kit Kat Fuse is a semi-enclosed fuse also considered as rewireable fuse designed mainly for the domestic wiring and small-scale usage. The offered fuse is made at our in-house facility and we implement the right process and using high highest grade raw component as per IS standard.
Available AMPS: 100Amps ,200Amps ,400Amps

9. What is the application of a distribution board?

Distribution boards are commonly installed when the electricity is required to be distributed into various areas of a building or an application, for example, a large commercial office building will have a distribution board installed on every floor, to assist in the distribution of electrical power throughout the level

10. What are the applications of isolator?

Isolator is a manually operated mechanical switch that isolates the faulty section of substation. It is used to separate faulty section for repair from a healthy section in order to avoid the occurrence of severe faults. It is also called disconnector or disconnecting switch for distribution board .

11. How does a changeover work?

The changeover switches connect the critical loads/ circuits, the main power grid, the generator or an alternate source. When manually operated, the power flowing to the critical loads/circuit changes from either the main power grid or generator, preventing back feed into each other.
